Three BrightLine multiband “Pinkel” optical filter sets optimized for real-time analysis of living cells labeled with multiple fluorescent proteins have been introduced by Semrock Inc. The CFP/YFP-2×-A and GFP/DsRed-2×-A sets contain four filters -- two single-band exciters and a dual-band emitter and beamsplitter. The CFP/YFP/HcRed-3×-A set has five filters, three exciters and a triple-band emitter and beamsplitter. Made with an ion-beam-sputtered hard-coating technology and without adhesives in the optical path, they offer >90% average passband transmission, a clear aperture of >80% of transverse filter dimensions and blocking of OD >6.
