StellarNet_CXR_FSystem.jpgThe CXR-FS unveiled by StellarNet Inc. for fluorescence spectroscopy comprises a miniature fiber optically coupled TE-cooled UV/VIS spectrometer with a concave grating, an LED-based excitation source and a dual-read cuvette sample holder. Liquid samples are placed in the holder, and the spectrometer detects fluorescence via a dual-port fiber optic Y-cable that doubles the signal and covers the 280- to 900-nm detection range. The company says that the TE cooler improves the signal-to-noise ratio by 60% at exposure times of greater than 3 s. The optical bench contains no moving parts, for shockproof durability. The included SpectraWiz software suite has Windows drivers with customizable programs.
