fFO Physical Optics Corp. has developed the POC912 fiber optic 1:2 bypass switching system for automated switching of primary and secondary fibers. The system protects against faulty fibers or the loss of return data links from a primary source. It is suited for fiber optic data links or network systems and operates in either single- or multimode without the need to modify existing fiber equipment. An alarm connection signals the user that a switch to a secondary path has occurred.
