Toptica.jpgToptica Photonics AG has unveiled a frequency control package for the generation of continuous-wave terahertz radiation, based on distributed feedback diode technology. The system offers a tuning range of 0 to 1.8 THz, which covers the absorption signatures of a broad range of substances. The basic package includes two tunable lasers with fiber optic beam combination and low-noise driving electronics. The high-power version includes a semiconductor amplifier that boosts the two-color laser output to ∼500 mW, and the precision frequency control model includes a patented interferometric stabilization technique.
