Jasco.jpgUnveiled by Jasco Inc., the VIR-9000 series compact, lightweight, flexible Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) systems have collimated entrance and exit ports. The standard instrument comprises a hermetically sealed interferometer, a DLaTGS detector, a high-intensity source, KRS-5 windows and automatic alignment. Options include mercury cadmium telluride, InSb and InGaAs detectors for increased sensitivity and for battery operation. The VIR-9400 has an economical, general-purpose configuration; the VIR-9500 achieves maximum resolution of 0.5 cm–1 for both solids and gases; and the VIR-9600 comprises the near-IR configuration, including a CaF2 beamsplitter and a halogen near-IR source.
