The Rod-360-UV18 detector manufactured by Gigahertz-Optik Inc. is designed to measure the effective ultraviolet germicidal irradiance used in air and water sterilization applications that employ low- and medium-pressure mercury or pulsed xenon lamps. It has a 360° field of view, narrowband far-UVC spectral response and spectral calibration with a 254-nm low-pressure Hg source. It features a waterproof housing, a typical responsivity of 0.8 nA/W/m2, a 5 x 6.5-mm sensing area and a 2-m coaxial cable. With the company’s single- or multichannel optometer solar blind, the device can measure far-UV radiance from 0.01 μW/cm2 to 25 W/cm2 over the 220- to 280-nm spectral range.
