WIEN, Austria, Nov. 30, 2010 — The FemtoSource fusion family manufactured by Femtolasers Produktions GmbH is a range of Ti:sapphire oscillators generating pulse durations from <9 to <20 fs.

Average powers range from 150 mW to 1.2 W, and the pulse durations of <9 fs yield peak powers of >1 MW. State-of-the-art laser parameters are offered at low pump power levels. The systems feature an integrated pump laser and the GreenAlign active opto-mechanical component developed for the company’s industrial grade Integral oscillators.

At the heart of every fusion system, the dispersive mirror-based oscillator cavity rests on a proprietary thermally stabilized base plate. High-quality ultralow-loss optics and compact mechanical components offer good pulse durations, power levels and efficiency. Extracavity dispersion control guarantees ultrafast pulses arriving at the target undistorted. The dispersive mirror cavity exhibits solid passive stability, ultralow noise and high performance due to the reduction in the number and size of the components.

Applications include amplifier and optical parametric chirped-pulse amplification seeding; terahertz spectroscopy and imaging; optical coherence tomography; ultrafast spectroscopy; pump-probe measurements; materials processing; two-photon polymerization; thin-film metrology; nonlinear optics; and surface-enhanced high harmonic generation.

For applications that require short pulses, a large bandwidth or high peak power, the company offers the fusion BB and M1 systems. Proprietary dispersive mirror technology enables both models to reliably sustain the largest bandwidth with a near-Gaussian shape or the highest level of peak power guaranteed from a commercial femtosecond oscillator. For applications requiring parameters not offered by the standard fusion models, custom tailored systems with distinct spectral shapes, pulse durations, power and repetition rates are available upon request.
