WIEN, Austria, Dec. 13, 2010 — FemtoLasers Produktions GmbH has introduced the FemtoSource synergy family of Ti:sapphire oscillators generating pulse durations from sub-10 to sub-20 fs. Average powers range from 500 mW to 1.2 W, and peak powers are >1 MW.

Applications include amplifier and optical parametric chirped-pulse amplifier seeding; terahertz spectroscopy and imaging; optical coherence tomography; ultrafast spectroscopy; pump-probe measurements; materials processing; two-photon polymerization; thin-film metrology; nonlinear optics; multiplex coherent amplified Raman spectroscopy; and surface-enhanced high-order harmonic generation.

Features include ultrafast pulses, extreme peak power, dispersive mirror (DM) cavity technology, ultralow noise, ease of operation, high contrast and good pulse quality. Options include FemtoLock repetition rate stabilization, GreenAlign stabilization and ease of operation, BeamAlign active beam pointing stabilization and a FemtoMeter femtosecond autocorrelator.

At the heart of every synergy model, the DM-based oscillator cavity rests on a proprietary thermally stabilized base plate. High-quality ultralow-loss optics and compact mechanical components offer good pulse duration, power levels and efficiency. The extracavity dispersion control guarantees ultrafast pulses arriving at the target undistorted. The GreenAlign active optomechanical component developed for the company’s industrial grade Integral oscillators provides active stability and ease of operation. The DM cavity exhibits solid passive stability, ultralow noise and high performance due to a significant reduction in the number of components.

Custom specifications are available upon request for applications that require parameters not offered by the standard synergy models. These include distinct spectral shapes, pulse durations, power and repetition rates.

Beam diameter (1/e2) is <2mm, beam divergence is <2 mrad, spatial mode is TEM00 with M2 <1.3, horizontal polarization is >100:1, noise is <0.05% rms, measured from 10 Hz to 100 kHz, and power stability is ±1%.
