KINGSTON UPON HULL, England, Dec. 18, 2019 —
The LXR 100 femtosecond laser from Luxinar is an ultrashort laser for materials processing.
The short pulse width of the laser virtually eliminates heat diffusion to the surroundings of the processed region, minimizing the formation of a heat-affected zone and enabling high-precision micro- and nanofabrication of various components. The LXR 100 is capable of a large dynamic range of average powers, pulse energies, and operating modes. The pulse width is between 900 ± 100fs, its pulse repetition frequency is between single-shot and 40 MHz, and its maximum rated pulse energy is 100 µJ. Burst mode and pulse-on-demand are available.
High peak power enables novel modes of processing within the bulk of the material rather than by restricting interaction with the material surface. Applications include consumer electronics, medicine, automotive, R&D, aerospace, and defense, among many others.
