A line of EIA 0201 Ferrite chip beads has been introduced by Laird Technologies Inc. to extend its existing 0402 and 3312 surface-mounted monolithic EMI suppression product families.

Laird-Tech-ferrite-chip-bea.jpgThe LI0201 chip beads offer smaller, miniature footprints ideal for advanced handheld electronic devices, including cell phones, Bluetooth handsets, PDAs, GPS, MP3 players, digital camcorders and cameras.

The beads feature superior impedance versus frequency characteristics with low DCR for EMI noise suppression on high frequency and broadband digital signal lines, according to the company. The Ferrites are suitable for dense, compact circuit board construction and provide EMI noise filtering effect and space efficiency. They can also be placed close to the EMI source or receptor of the external interface or internal signal interconnection.

Applications include telecommunications, data communications and consumer electronics markets.
