Laser Scanner
Applied Scientific Instrumentation Inc.Request Info
The Fiber-Coupled Laser Scanner by Applied Scientific Instrumentation is a 2-D galvo unit designed for generating SPIM (selective plane illumination microscopy) light sheets. It is also suitable for optogenetics, local uncaging and fluorescence recovery after photobleaching (FRAP).
A light beam enters the scanner on a standard fiber optic connector. In the sample plane, the beam is steered with an electronically controlled galvo comprising an integrated two-axis MEMS mirror. An optional anti-striping mirror varies the beam’s angle of incidence on the sample to mitigate shadowing effects. Adjusting the iris changes the light sheet thickness and depth of focus. By steering the beam to one corner, it can effectively be turned off or “blanked.”
A C-mount port connects the scanner to the microscope.
