DILAS.jpgDilas has released fiber-coupled multibar modules that deliver up to 300-W output from a 200-μm core diameter fiber at 976 nm. Featuring high brightness and power, they have a compact footprint and a convenient aiming beam and have demonstrated a lifetime of >10,000 h at 300-W CW operation. Their cladding mode-free high-power fiber has a numerical aperture of <0.20 and wall plug efficiency of >35%. Packaged in up to 10-bar configurations, the modules are based on conductively cooled bars that are optically stacked and polarization-coupled. They operate from 20 to 35 °C and require only industrial water for cooling. Center wavelength tolerance is ±3 mm, spectral width is 5 nm FWHM, slope efficiency is >7 W/A, and power conversion efficiency is >35%. The devices are suitable for direct-diode applications and for fiber- and solid-state laser pumping.
