QUEBEC CITY, March 26, 2015 — Exfo FIP-435BExfo Inc. has announced a fully automated wireless fiber inspection probe that allows standard wires to be swapped for a Wi-Fi connection to Android smart devices.

The FIP-435B enables tower crews in fiber-to-the-antenna applications to quickly level up on fiber testing. The LED indicator on the probe gives an immediate pass/fail verdict for the connector endface without the need to look at the smart device screen.

The ConnectorMax2 Mobile application allows smartphone or tablet users to turn their device into a fully fledged fiber inspection solution by connecting the inspection probe to the connector port, automatically detecting the connection, locating and centering the fiber image, adjusting and optimizing the focus and capture, running the pass/fail analysis and even saving and reporting results.
