AFL’s line of Noyes Focis Pro automatic fiber inspection systems provides network personnel with documentation of fiber connector cleanliness and integrity.

The handheld system consists of a DFD1 Touchscreen Tablet, a DFS1 Digital FiberScope and the new SimpleView Pro software. It can center a fiber image and identify the critical core, cladding, adhesive and contact zones, while detecting and tallying the types of defects found. The software analyzes a typical fiber in less than 5 s, and its zoom/pan feature, combined with a large, clear display, enables users to identify the smallest particles, scratches and imperfections.

Because the optical resolution and detection specifications exceed current international standards, and the software-based applications are upgradable, Focis Pro solutions are future-proof.

A patent-pending paired image feature allows users to make immediate fiber cleanliness comparisons. Users can capture and save up to 1000 fiber images, review images on site, and share them via USB memory sticks or SD flash cards. All Focis units can be upgraded to the functionality of Focis Pro.
