Toptica Photonics Inc. has announced an ultrafast fiber laser with short pulse durations. The tunable ultracompressed pulse model of the FemtoFiber pro series provides a supercontinuum between 980 and 1400 nm, with >30-mW output power. The mode-locked fiber laser system features pulse durations <25 fs and is suitable for biophotonics, pump-probe experiments and femtosecond spectroscopy. The company says that it delivers high performance, ease of use, reliability and robustness. Based on saturable absorber mirror mode-locking technology and a core-pumped fiber amplifier, the master oscillator power amplifier platform is all fiber and based on polarization-maintaining fibers. The standard repetition rate is 80 MHz, with 40 MHz also available. Up to three fiber-coupled seed ports turn every FemtoFiber pro model into a complex laser system for multibeam experiments with optically synchronized laser pulses.
