The YP100-45-01 and YP100-45-02 Dual-Axis Yaw and Pitch Stages from Optimal Engineering Systems Inc. feature a yaw axis capable of rotation in either direction and an integrated pitch axis with a travel of +/- 45°.
The YP100-45-01 is stepper motor driven, and the YP100-45-02 is brushless servo motor driven. They are both ideal for the precise measurement of angles or the curvature of objects, and designed for use with coordinate measuring machines. The yaw axis has a maximum speed of 14°/s with a stepper motor and 45°/s with a servo motor, along with a resolution of 0.001° equal to 3.6 arc-sec when the resolution of the micro-step is 10. The pitch stage has an 80 × 80-mm table with a precision pattern of threaded holes for mounting tooling and fixtures, a rotation center height of 50 mm, a resolution of 0.001° equal to 3.6 arc-sec when the resolution of the micro-step is 10.
The knobs of the stepper motors can be replaced with an optional optical encoder for precision position verification. The YP100-45-02 features servo motors and optical encoders for very precise closed loop operation and faster travel speeds. Each axis has a calibrated indicator to display the angle of yaw and pitch axes. Both stages can be ordered plug-and-play with a fully compatible multi-axis motion controller.
