Gradient Lens Corp.’s Hawkeye Pro MicroFlex fiber optic borescopes enable manufacturers of small machined or molded medical parts and components to inspect for burrs, surface finish and defects inside very small components. At 0.5, 0.9 and 1.5 mm in diameter, the new models are the smallest-diameter scopes in the company’s Hawkeye line of rigid, flexible and video borescopes. They produce high-quality images via high-resolution 10,000- or 30,000-pixel fiber optic image bundles. The optical fibers allow them to reach into narrow, twisting paths. The borescopes are available in lengths ranging from 150 mm to 1 m. A C-mount direct video adapter allows users to attach the scopes to a video camera and capture images for further inspection or documentation.
