MINNEAPOLIS, Feb. 6, 2015 — FieldShield StrongFiber from Clearfield Inc. is a 900 μm G657 A2 bend-insensitive optical fiber cable with 0.2dB insertion loss.

Its loose-tube construction features mini-Kevlar, providing 18 lb of tensile strength while allowing movement for thermal expansion and contraction through temperature extremes.

The fiber may be used in most environments in place of flat drop optical cable, where conduit or microduct is being used.

Cables of up to 300 feet are shipped on a 4.5 × 1-in. reel with integrated bulkhead and pre-mated adapter that can be mounted into customer wall boxes, demarcation points, pedestals and cabinets.
