LIVINGSTON, West Lothian, Scotland, Sept. 19, 2014 — A new glass interface from Optoscribe Ltd. is designed for simple coupling to arrays of emitters or receivers including vertical-cavity surface-emitting lasers (VCSELs), photodiodes and photonic integrated circuits (PICs).
The FCX Fibre Coupled InterconneX can be mounted on optical boards or directly bonded as part of hybrid assemblies. The interface is compatible with a variety of standard fiber architectures, and also supports advanced space division multiplexed transmission using multicore fiber (MCF) or few-mode fiber (FMF).
