Fiber Optic Multiplexers

Avantes, a manufacturer of fiber optic spectroscopy instruments and systems, has released faster, more reliable and quieter fiber optic multiplexers (FOM).

Easily integrated into Avantes' advanced spectroscopy software AvaSoft, they enable single or multiple light sources and spectrometers to make multipoint serial measurements. They feature USB 2.0 and full Avantes DLL support.

They are supplied with the new broadband fibers exclusive to Avantes, which combine the advantages of high OH solarization-resistant fiber for the UV with low OH fiber for the NIR. This is a leap forward for fiber optic spectroscopy applications, which have had to choose between UV/VIS and NIR fiber or combine two types of fiber into an assembly, a costly and more complex process.

The multiplexers are available in 1 x 16, 2 x 8 and 4 x 4 versions. As standard, they are supplied with 400-μm fiber optic cables. Other diameters are available upon request.
