MORGES, Switzerland, Jan. 25, 2016 — Omnisens SA offers the Vision and Vision Dual fiber optic test and measurement devices, providing accurate distributed strain and temperature measurements for quality control, qualification testing and troubleshooting of optical fibers, fiber optic cables, fiber coils and telecommunication links.

Vision is a Brillouin optical time domain analyzer, requiring access to both ends of the single mode fiber for measurement. It provides strain and temperature measurement data over 60 km with meter accuracy. Its 28-dB optical budget can overcome the measurement challenges faced in field testing, such as splice, connector and fiber losses.

Vision Dual offers two measurement modes with a Brillouin optical time domain reflectometer function with single-ended operation. It features a 45-km distance range and 10-dB optical budget, with the measurement of strain and temperature profiles with meter resolution along each connected optical fiber.
