NORCROSS, Ga., Oct. 17, 2017 — Fiber Pump Combiners and Pump Signal CombinersHigh-power, all-fiber pump combiners and pump signal combiners from OFS Fitel LLC are key components of highly integrated fiber laser and fiber amplifier systems.

The combiners couple the power of a number of multimode lasers to obtain up to 2-kW power levels. The high-power, all-fiber pump combiners and pump signal combiners have been tested and demonstrate power levels of 400 W and 2 kW, respectively. OFS combiners can be implemented in almost any fiber laser or amplifier architecture and allow for uncooled operation.

Applications include the directed energy market, addressing the requirements for laser weapon systems with improved size, weight and power.
