LAWRENCE, Mass., March 9, 2016 —
The RS-3500 field-portable spectroradiometer from Spectral Evolution Inc. delivers fast, nondestructive data collection in the field for remote sensing applications.
The 7-lb, sealed device features no moving optical parts; it resists dust, dirt and moisture. A stainless steel jacketed fiber optic cable and a quick optical connect/disconnect allow users to swap accessories in the field. An ILM-105 light source is rail-mounted to the unit. Autoshutter, autoexposure and autodark correction is provided before each new scan, with no optimization step, for one-touch scanning.
The spectroradiometer provides accurate analysis in situ for ground-truthing hyperspectral images, forest canopy studies, plant species identification, soil monitoring, and chlorophyll and moisture analysis to identify healthy and stressed vegetation, agricultural analysis to prevent over- and under-fertilization and other applications.
