FieldSpec 3 is a user-friendly, field-portable, precision Vis/NIR spectroradiometer with a modular full spectral range (350 to 2500 nm) and rapid data collection (1/10th of a second per spectrum). ASD said it allows users to collect more data from more sites in less time. An improved instrument design combined with new wireless connectivity result in a more portable and flexible device, the company said. The wireless connection allows for remote control of a data collection up to 150 feet away (distance reliant on open line of sight for wireless connection). The new LabVIEW interface expands the power and capabilities of the updated RS3 software that enables automation of data collection and and ease of use for a wide variety of applications. Built to handle intense shock and vibration, as well as temperature extremes, the FieldSpec 3 now provides a diagnostic package featuring the ASD FiberChecker, nonslip rubber feet for integration into custom transport platforms and an improved ergonomic backpack.
