Field Flow Fractionation SystemThe EAF2000 Electrical and Asymmetrical Field Flow Fractionation System from Postnova Analytics GmbH is designed to enhance the separation and characterization of biopharmaceutical, environmental, and nanomaterials.

The device combines the principle of electrical and asymmetrical field flow fractionation in a single platform. Electrical and cross-flow fields are applied together across the channel, enabling separation by size and simultaneous measurement of particle charge based on electrophoretic mobility. While traditional field flow fractionation instruments are well known to provide particle size or molar mass distribution data, an EAF2000 system allows the identification of charge heterogeneities inside different size and molar mass fractions.

As particle or molecule charge plays a large role in many applications such as protein aggregation, polymer flocculation, and particle agglomeration, the EAF2000 can establish more efficient product development and quality control processes.
