PITTSFIELD, Mass., Aug. 29, 2025 — The LNP THERMOCOMP WFC061I compound from SABIC is a glass fiber-reinforced, laser-weldable flame-retardant polybutylene terephthalate material. The compound includes colorability, low warpage to increase yield, and high optical transmission for precision laser welding. Featuring nonbrominated/nonchlorinated flame retardance to protect internal electronic parts from fire, smoke, impact, and moisture, the compound can be used to replace electric vehicle control unit covers to reduce weight and improve functionality.
