Semrock.jpgSemrock Inc. has expanded its line of Brightline fluorescence filter sets for microscopy with the addition of the cost-effective BrightLine Basic hard-coated sets. The single-band filters offer the “no burnout” durability of the flagship filters along with optical performance that exceeds that of soft-coated fluorescence filters, according to the company. Manufactured with the ion beam sputtering technology, they are brighter than soft-coated filters with comparable contrast. The sets are in stock for a wide range of popular fluorophores, including cyan fluorescent protein, blue fluorescent protein and other UV-excited blue-emission fluorophores as well as the wild-type green fluorescent protein, which is blueshifted relative to the most common forms of that protein.
