JDSU.jpgJDSU now provides custom fluorescence filters for biomedical applications such as fluorescence microscopy, flow cytometry, microarray scanning, microplate reading, high-content screening and fluorometry. The company uses the UCP-1 magnetron-sputtering deposition machine to coat the filters, resulting in high-durability, high-transmission filters that enable researchers to obtain a high signal-to-noise ratio. Blocking for the emission and excitation filters exceeds an optical density of 6, and dichroic mirrors reflect 98% of light in undesirable spectral regions. Representative excitation filters, dichroic mirrors and emission filters with passbands of ≥400 nm transmit >90% of incident light, and no epoxy is in the light path. The filters meet ISO-9211-3 Category C, MIL-STD 810F and MIL-STD 48497 A environmental, reliability and durability standards.
