New Scale Technologies M3 LSEmbed M3-LS Microstages in Next-Gen Sequencing (NGS) instruments. Achieve precise laser spot size and alignment to deliver maximum energy in the lanes, channels, or nanowells. No separate electronics are required, only 3.3 V and digital serial commands.

M3-LS Microstages have high repeatability and accuracy. They actively compensate for thermal drift to maintain laser spot size and alignment despite internal heating of the instrument or ambient temperature changes. Low power use and off-power hold minimize heating due to the motion system. M3 modules are based on patented piezoelectric motors and operate without gears, cams or lubricants, resulting in low outgassing. They also offer greater power efficiency, higher reliability, and ten times better precision than electromagnetic motors.

For instrument designers, the M3 module delivers smallest system size and fastest system integration thanks to the built-in controller with I2C or SPI digital interface. Simply send high-level motion commands directly to the module. No external control board is needed, minimizing space for electronics and cabling in the instrument. This is essential for massively parallel sequencing with high numbers of tightly-spaced flow cells.

On-board firmware also simplifies the programming task.
