Fomux Fiber Optic Multiplexer Accessory for Spectrometers

StellarNet has announced a new high-performance optical switching accessory for its family of fiber optic spectrometers, the Fomux. The standard unit includes 3 single-strand fiber optic input channels with standard SMA-905 connectors. An SMA-905 output connector is used to send selectable signals to the UV-VIS or NIR spectrometer input. A fourth input channel can be optionally ordered. Key features include high-speed switching reliability, automatic dark shutter for each channel, low optical loss, no signal crosstalk and low power operation. Fomux reduces the number of spectrometer channels required for process monitoring of up to four separate locations. The portable multiplexer is packaged in a miniature rugged enclosure and operates from +5VDC. The Fomux attaches directly to a computer's high-speed parallel printer port with channel selection control provided by SpectraWiz software.
