The iPort CL-GigE external frame grabber by Pleora Technologies Inc. enables video transmission from Camera Link Base cameras over Gigabit Ethernet across the temperature range of –40 °C to 60 °C. The device helps to lower design and component costs, with minimal software development, for imaging systems in harsh-environment applications, including defense.

The iPORT CL-GigE allows manufacturers and integrators to convert Camera Link Base configuration cameras to GigE Vision 2.0 cameras, providing them with the long-distance cabling reach, computing support and networking advantages of Gigabit Ethernet. It plugs into a range of computing platforms without the need for a PCI frame grabber.

The frame grabber features line-scan and area-scan modes, a 120-MB frame buffer for multi-megapixel sensor sizes, compatibility with GigE Vision and GenICam standards, an on-board programmable logic controller, and IEEE 1588 Precision Time Protocol and action commands. Integrated Power-over-Ethernet and Power-over-Camera-Link capabilities enable one-cable installations.
