National Instruments has released three PCI Express-based frame grabbers, supporting major digital camera buses. Suitable for machine vision, the NI PCIe-8255R can acquire data from IEEE-1394a and -1394b cameras, while offering reconfigurable input/output technology. For security and monitoring applications, the NI PCIe-8231 supports the GigE Vision standard, compatible with Gigabit Ethernet cables. It acquires images from a distance of more than 100 m, using a fraction of the computer’s CPU. For line-scan applications and color imaging, the NI PCIe-1427 provides cost-effective image acquisition for base configuration Camera Link cameras.
