Framing CamerasSpecialised Imaging Inc. has announced a new state-of-the-art processor for its SIM family of ultrafast framing cameras.

The new processor will allow new remote operation capabilities and improve the download speed by a factor of 50, allowing faster real-time focusing from the control computer and large file transfer in <5 s. Using high-resolution image intensifiers, no-compromise optical design and double pulsing, SIM cameras offer ultrahigh-speed imaging performance to scientists and engineers. The high-throughput SIM camera optical design offers up to 16 separate channels without compromising resolution, shading or parallax.

Capable of capturing images at 1 billion fps, with gating down to 3 ns, the Specialised Imaging SIM camera captures images for accurate, high-speed spatial analysis of fast transient events.
