Frequency-Stabilized HeNe Lasers
Research Electro-Optics Inc. (REO)Request Info
REO Inc.’s new series of stabilized helium-neon 632.8-nm lasers are available with either 1 or 1.5 mW of output power and can be frequency-stabilized to ±1 MHz over 1 h, or ±2 MHz over 8 h, or intensity-stabilized to ±0.1% over 1 min or ±0.2% over 1 h.
The operational mode is user-selected via a toggle switch on the power supply front panel. Constructed using a proprietary cavity design and the company’s ultralow-loss optics, the rugged lasers offer long lifetimes and insensitivity to ambient temperature shifts. The frequency shift with temperature is typically <2 MHz/°C.
Their high degree of stabilization and long coherence length make them suitable for applications in metrology, instrumentation and research, including interferometry (particularly in setups with unequal path lengths), distance measurement, profilometry, scatterometry, velocimetry, ellipsometry and Raman spectroscopy. They are also useful as a reference source in wavelength or frequency measurement applications.
The company also offers custom stabilized HeNe lasers suitable for integration into OEM systems for volume users. Examples are integration of optomechanical components with the laser, and cleanroom assembly to meet stringent contamination specifications.
