Using proprietary surface-forming technology, Precision Asphere LLC manufactures custom convex and concave glass aspheres with diameters from 10 to >300 mm. Aspheric surface forming is done on computer-controlled machines using optimized motion-control software and tooling for precise and quick convergence of figure error, and glass aspheres that deviate from best-fit spheres by any amount can be produced. The machines use feedback from a 200-mm Talysurf PGI-1240 stylus profiler and a Zygo GPI XP interferometer for consistent control of the motion and forces required to form complex aspheric surfaces.
