Fujikura Europe Ltd. has launched its Gigabit passive optical network small form factor pluggable (GPON SFP) transceiver for FTTX network system vendors.
The GPON offers more enhanced security, greater network flexibility and higher bit-rates to network users than PON technologies, according to the company. The SFP format allows reduced carrier OPEX through decreased ‘down time’ and improved inventory management.
As demand increases, operators are able to scale their deployments, adding further GPON lines to meet requirements.
