Balluff mvBlueCougarThe MATRIX VISION, a brand of Balluff, mvBlueCOUGAR camera portfolio now includes UV-sensitive versions, extending the range of applications where the GigE Vision cameras are well suited.

The integration of the new UV-sensitive global shutter CMOS sensors IMX487 from Sony increases the UV range to 200 to 400 nm. This opens up a wide range of possibilities for industrial inspection, including the detection of transparent materials. Global Shutter technology with backside illumination ensures both undistorted images with moving objects and high image quality through optimal use of the pixel grid. With a pixel size of only 2.74 µm, the cameras achieve a resolution of 8.1 MPixels. In the GigE version mvBlueCOUGAR-X, the camera reaches a frame rate of 25 fps at full resolution, whereas in the mvBlueCOUGAR-XT with 10GigE interface, 147 fps is possible. The sensor size of only 2/3" permits the use of more reasonably priced UV-compatible camera lenses.

The cameras in the mvBlueCOUGAR range are compliant with the standards GenICam and GigE Vision®. Drivers are available for both Windows and Linux. The camera also supports third-party software that is compatible with GigE Vision®.
