Matrox Imaging has unveiled the Matrox GatorEye, an industrial IP67-rated Gigabit Ethernet camera for use in machine vision applications. It is available in six sensor configurations: 640 x 480 at 110 fps with a 1/3-in. monochrome or color CCD; 1280 x 960 at 22 fps with a 1/3-in. monochrome or color CCD; and 1600 x 1200 at 15 fps with a 1/1.8-in. monochrome or color CCD. To connect to external devices, the camera has an optocoupled trigger input, strobe output, eight general-purpose input/outputs and a controlled current source for driving LED illuminators directly. It can be powered by 12- to 24-VDC or by Power over Ethernet.
