OBERSULM, Germany, Oct. 25, 2010 — The new GigE uEye CP industrial cameras from Imaging Development Systems GmbH render a separate power supply cable obsolete. Measuring 29 × 29 × 41 mm, the cameras feature Power over Ethernet technology and have a fast Gigabit Ethernet interface that accommodates cable lengths of up to 100 m. With a robust magnesium housing, screw-on connectors, and optically isolated in- and outputs, they are designed for use in industrial environments.
“CP” stands for “compact” and “Power over Ethernet.” The cameras combine the simplicity of USB with the performance of GigE, are connected with just one cable and offer plug-and-play ease of use.
The new series includes three models featuring CMOS sensors and covering a wide range of applications. At 5 megapixels, the UI-5480CP offers the highest resolution. The UI-5220CP is equipped with a WVGA chip capable of operating at 100 fps, and the third version, the UI-5240CP, has a global shutter sensor with 1.3 megapixels and operates at 50 fps. It is particularly sensitive and equally suited to fast inspection tasks and microscopy. The other technical specifications are identical to the familiar GigE uEye SE series.
The cameras have an additional galvanically isolated supply connection for a voltage of 12 to 24 V.
