Global Shutter CMOS SensorThe Mira050 global shutter CMOS sensor from ams-OSRAM AG is sensitive to both visible and NIR light for wearable and mobile devices.

The compact, 2.3 × 2.8-mm, 0.5-MP device is suitable for applications such as eye tracking, gesture tracking, and contextual awareness in augmented and virtual reality headsets, object detection in robots, and 3D depth sensing for face recognition in smart door locks. Power consumption is 47 mW at full resolution and 60 µW at stand-by power, with a frame rate of 120 fps. Quantum efficiency is 36% at 940 nm, 56% at 850 nm in the NIR spectrum, and up to 93% at 550 nm in the VIS light range. On-chip power management adjusts the power supplied to various functional blocks in response to settings for the frame rate and exposure time.
