JENA, Germany, June 17, 2011 — The Lasers & Materials Processing Div. of Jenoptik has announced the launch of the JenLas D2.mini 5/8 W, a compact medical laser more powerful than its predecessor, the JenLas D2.mini 2/3 W.

The new diode-pumped green disk laser delivers output power up to 8 W and, according to the company, is easy to integrate into many types of small devices. Its small volume and compact shape provide optimized beam quality and higher output for applications in medicine, such as dermatology and aesthetic laser therapy, as well as entertainment.
