Del Mar Photonics Inc. has introduced a 532-nm continuous-wave diode-pumped solid-state laser with a 4-/6-W optical pump source. The fiber-fed laser generates a near-diffraction-limited beam with a power stability of <1% rms and noise <0.5% from 1 Hz to 6 MHz. With applications in biomedicine and ophthalmology, the device features a beam size of 2.5 mm, divergence of <0.4 mrad and RS-232 control, and it does not require water cooling.
