IRVINE, Calif., April 4, 2011 — Toshiba Imaging Systems Division has announced an OEM relationship with Dage-MTI to introduce two high definition (HD) cameras designed for microscopy applications.
Dage-MTI’s RealView HD microscope cameras combine Toshiba’s imaging technology with specially formatted preset values for use in critical microscopy applications.

The single-chip RealView HD-210 camera operates at 60 fps in 1080i mode and features a 2.1-megapixel sensor that provides good detail. The real-time HD image provides true 1920 × 1080-pixel resolution and matches exactly the pixel-to-pixel resolution of the 16 × 9 ratio HD monitors and digital light processing projectors, without vertical or horizontal stretching. Viewing is intuitive and effective in settings such as tumor review boards, clinical rounds, pathology laboratories, classrooms and industrial inspection.
The RealView HD-330 microscope camera operates in 1080i mode at 30 fps and produces smooth motion. The high signal-to-noise ratio enables good sensitivity with clear definition and color contrast, even in low-light conditions. Dage-MTI has incorporated Toshiba Imaging’s three-CCD prism block camera technology to ensure sharp true HD color imagery. The three-chip camera is designed for use in applications such as pathology labs, cell biology, fluorescence imaging, classroom or other teaching environments, and industrial inspection. The cameras also can be used in ophthalmic and dental surgery.
Both can be connected directly to high-definition monitors via digital video interaction output or high-definition multimedia interface cables, eliminating the need for software or a PC. The cameras can be paired with Dage-MTI’s RealView Magic Box to form a high-quality imaging capture and review system.
