BARRINGTON, N.J., Sept. 28, 2006 -- Edmund Optics' new line of rugged microvideo imaging lenses directly meets the needs of automotive and industrial machine vision applications, the company said. By incorporating precision optical components inside a sealed optical assembly matched with optimum performance, the Harsh Environmental Optics (HEO) excel in wash-down and other wet surroundings.

EdmundHEO.jpgDesigned for 1/2-in. and 1/3-in. sensor formats, these HEO imaging lenses are offered in four different focal lengths and feature standard M12 x 0.5 mounting threads. Two different coating options make these lenses ideal for visible or near-infrared infinite conjugate imaging applications.

Machine vision integrators will find the HEO imaging lenses ideal for conditions where standard imaging optics fail, the company said. Edmund Optics' water-resistant housing makes these lenses ideally suited for use beyond typical lab and factory floor applications.
