A line of 5-mm discrete LEDs from LEDtronics Inc. are water-clear T1-3/4 devices that incorporate optical-grade epoxy to produce bright illumination in direct sunlight. The Super Blue and Cool White models are SiC/GaN LEDs that operate at 470 nm and 8000 K, respectively. The Super Lime Green (570 nm), Super Pure Yellow (592 nm), Super Orange (612 nm) and Super Red (633 nm) versions are InGaAlP devices. The diodes, whose leads were designed for reliability in wire wrap applications, are suitable for medical imaging, spectral analysis, telecommunications equipment and machine vision systems.
