Cordin Co.'s new single-lens, eight-frame charge-coupled device camera can record low light levels in single-shot or repetitive modes. Ultrafast phenomena can be recorded in the spectral ranges from the UV to the near-IR. The Model 188 consists of eight CCD cameras whose sensors look through a single objective lens. The computer-controlled system can record low light levels and can operate in live mode for test setup, focus and image evaluation. Shuttering and light gain are provided by 18-mm microchannel plate intensifiers coupled to a CCD chip.
