MONTREAL, Jan. 21, 2014 — For low-light imaging, Nüvü Cameras’ HNü cameras offer faster frame rates with photon-counting precision for EMCCD detectors.

The thermoelectrically cooled devices provide a pixel readout rate of 20 MHz for standard back-illuminated Grade 1 scientific EMCCD detectors, making it possible to image any field of view without compromising on acquisition speed or optimal precision.

The cameras offer >91% single-photon-detection probability, and their lower levels of noise, combined with an operating temperature of –85 °C, enable frame rates exceeding 17, 67 and 975 images per second for the three standard sizes of EMCCD detectors (1024 × 1024, 512 × 512 and 128 × 128).
