Moulded Optics GmbH offers a standard line of precision-molded micro half-ball lenses from crown (nd = 1.5230), borosilicate (nd = 1.4730) and high-refractive (nd = 1.62000) glass materials in diameters of 3, 4, 5 and 6 mm, with standard, truncated and extended center thicknesses. The hemisphere first surface is molded, and the plano second surface is ground and polished. Lenslet array versions of micro half-ball lenses also are available. The devices are available in small- and large-volume quantities from stock, according to the company. OEM applications include LED lighting, fiber communications, endoscopy, microscopy, optical pickup devices and laser measurement systems.
