A new hexapod system from Physik Instrumente is a 6-axis positioning system with a 1000-lb load capacity.

The H-850KMLD provides 1-µm-minimum incremental motion over a 100-mm travel range on the X and Y planes and 0.5-µm-minium incremental motion on the Z plane. The repeatability in the three linear axes is ±1 µm, and ±5 µrad / 9 µrad in the rotary axes.

The hexapod’s applications include astronomical telescopes, satellite antenna alignment, optics alignment, medical tumor treatment and surgery, high-energy physics and semiconductor and photonics components manufacturing.
