HAMBURG, Germany, April 3, 2013 — Olympus Europa Holding GmbH has added the scan^R 2.4 high-content screening station to its collection of microscopy systems based on the IX83 inverted microscope frame. The screening station provides greater flexibility and increased scan speeds in a range of cell-based assays, including gene expression and bacterial infection.
With an “open source” design concept, the IX3 offers a modular, flexible approach to live-cell imaging. Built around a swappable deck design, optical modules can be exchanged into the infinite light path for the diverse needs of the user.
The updated screening station can be incorporated with the fully automated IX83. Its extended software capabilities include fully supported multicore and kinetic analysis for advanced microscopy techniques and easy export of cell population data. The workflow-oriented graphical user interface has also been updated, allowing the advanced capabilities of the station to be operated in a straightforward and intuitive manner, for routine and highly complex assays alike.
The real-time controller ensures precise timing of image capture, avoiding photobleaching and phototoxicity while maintaining the optimum scan speed. Designed to be flexible to user requirements, it is optimized for multiwell plates, slides and custom-built arrays.
